The linguist experts of Urdu language take deep pride in the fact that this language is spoken by a very large population in the sub-continent and in some European and American communities. It might be a fact to take pride in but it does not really make the Urdu language powerful internationally.
Some linguistics however does not accept this fact. They give the example of Chinese language. They say that the Chinese language is powerful only because the population of China is so large. The population of china is undoubtedly large however, their language is powerful for another reason that the linguists of Urdu conveniently forget.
The Chinese is a powerful language due to the economy of China. In comparison of China, the economy of Pakistan is nothing. On this note, the Pakistanis have to accept another fact too. The popularity of the Urdu language is not because of Pakistan.
India has played the major role in the popularity of the Urdu language. Nevertheless, they call it the Hindi language. However, their film industry and economy are playing a major role in the promotion of the Urdu language. Pakistan should take the lead and should try to improve its economy to make its national language progress.
